Dulcimers and folk music have
arrived at FOTMC. When the store was located in the Cincinnati area,
folk instruments including autoharps, hammered dulcimers, and mountain
dulcimers were offered and programs provided. That same look can
now be found at the Wapakoneta Store. We’re providing experiences for
you to try out the instruments (Discovery Classes), offering workshop
and concert days, weekly
lessons (individual & group), jam sessions, and a weekend
festival in May.

Festival
This yearly May festival
(May 7-9, 2010) features nationally-known headliners
Tull Glazener
on the mountain dulcimer and
Guy George
on the hammered dulcimer. Our
festival is very fortunate in having a wealth of local talent,
FOTMC's "Circle of Friends," including Chris Cooperrider, Joyce
Harrison, Bill Henderson, Vernon & Kitty McIntyre, Joe
Steiner, Don Thompson, Mary-Jo Ward, Sharon & Mike
Wildermuth, Louise Ziegler, and Shari Wolf.
The festival features 'Early Bird' classes, kick-off
classes, Friday & Saturday night concerts, Sunday Gospel
Celebration, jamming, classes for autoharp,
hammered dulcimer and mountain dulcimer, workshops for extra
instruments (bodhron, bass, mandolin, fiddle, pennywhistle,
etc.), on-site
meals, festival motels with special rates, and PARK your RV
for the weekend.

Jams for Dulcimers and Autoharps
Join us for Saturday afternoon
jams once a month from 1 to 3:30 pm. We’ll
be playing dulcimer standards, sharing local favorites and
learning some new tunes. Bring
your favorites, tape recorder or mp3 recorder and join us.

Discovery Classes
If you've always wanted to play an
instrument such as the autoharp, hammered dulcimer or
mountain dulcimer but have been unsure if you would enjoy
it, here is your opportunity to try.
Loaner instruments are available or bring your own.
The classes run for 2 1/2 hours and advanced registration is
